The nearly 300-acre Tangjia Terrace in Dong 'an County, Hunan Province is not as spectacular as the Longsheng Terrace in Guangxi, nor as charming as the Jiabang Terrace in Guizhou, nor as beautiful as the Yuanyang Terrace in Yunnan. However, the Tangjia Terrace has the beauty of harmony between the village and nature, giving people the feeling of "a fairyland on earth, a paradise in paradise." If Yuanyang, Longsheng and Jiabang terraces are "ladies from big families", then Tangjia terraces in Dong 'an, Hunan are "small family jade."

Tangjia Terrace is located in Tangjia Work Area of Shunhuang Mountain. There are a group of simple people living here. Because it is located deep in the mountains, with high mountains and steep roads, each terraced field is long and narrow, which is not easy for mechanized management. People here still use the original labor method, simple methods of harvesting grain in buckets and blowing grain in windmills.

It is said that the terraces in this mountain are surrounded by seven stars and the moon, and seven round fields can be vaguely seen from the top of the mountain, like seven stars. Especially the two round fields at the top are like two pearls, as if they have a feeling of two dragons playing with pearls.

In spring, water fills the fields, like strings of silver chains hanging among the mountains;

In summer, the seedlings spit green, like rows of green waves dancing;

In autumn, the golden ears sway, like nodding to guests coming from afar.

At the end of September, I came to Tangjia Terrace again. I felt that the terraces here had a strong sense of hierarchy and rhythm. A burst of autumn wind blew, and the ridges of grain fields could be seen as paintings, and the sounds could be heard as songs.

Being in the middle of the terraces is like being in a colorful picture.
